Paramus High Seniors Host 'Cut-a-Thon' for Prom

Fundraiser will help offset students cost for prom.

Paramus High School seniors are gearing up for prom and will host a cut-a-thon fundraiser event on Sunday, May 5 to help offset costs.

The fundraiser will be held at Salon A on Ridgewood Avenue from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. on May 5. PHS senior Nichole Gloria says the owner of the salon is a PHS alumn  who had reached out to the school offering to help out. Gloria learned of the idea from their class moderator and decided to spearhead the efforts.

The senior class will be offering $20 haircuts and/or blowouts.  All of the money we make goes to the senior class of 2013. Gloria says many can take advantage of the event to begin getting ready for prom.

With this fundraiser the class hopes to reduce the $80 ticket cost for prom as much as they possibly can, says Gloria.

A few of students will be volunteering to shampoo that day and some of the parents have also volunteered to handle the money, she says. Another business has pitched in to help - Gloria says the Starbucks on Route 17 North where she works is donating coffee for the event.
