Paramus Music Students Achieve Top Scores at Music Festival
Students participated in the Williamsburg Music Festival last week

Paramus High School music students came home from the Williamsburg Music Festival this week with the highest awards.
Paramus High School earned the highest combined socre for all the ensembles at the competition, announced Ken Rota, superintendent during the Monday night Board of Education meeting.
Other awards the students took home include the Silver - 2nd Place award earnd by the Concert Band. The Concert Choir earned the Gold 1st Place award and the title of Outstanding Choral Group Overall.

The String Orchestra earned Gold 1st Place and the title of Outstanding Orchestra Group Overall.
Two students received the Heritage Music Festival Maestra Award for their solos - Krishna Patel on marimba/choir and Benjamin Jen on Soprano Saxophone/band.

As both the Concert Choir and String Orchestra received Gold ratings they are invited to participate in the Festival of Gold Concert during the 2013-2014 school year, the school reported.
Paramus was once again named among the "Best Communities for Music Education" by NAMM for the ninth year in a row.
