Paramus Schools Rank High in Academic Performance
Newly released School Report Cards from the state show all eight schools perform high academically against the state average. Schools now fall into different peer groups. See the charts below.

All eight Paramus public schools - 5 elementary, 2 middle schools and the high school - ranked high in academic performance when compared against others in the state as per figures released by the state Department of Education last week.
According to the new School Report Cards for the 2011-2012 school year all the Paramus schools achieved the high ranking which is between the 60th and 79th percentile.
Above the 79th percentile is considered very high performance, between 40th and 59th is considered average, between 20th ad 39th is considered lagging and below that is considered significant lag in performance, according to the report card.

The report card also shows how each school did in college and career preparedness and student growth. As for college and career preparedness most schools ranked on the high scale while Parkway, Ridge Ranch and Stony Lane achieved the very high ranking in this area.
As for student growth, the school with the highest ranking against the state in this area is the high school.

The new School Report Cards for the 2011-2012 no longer rank districts into groups and now rank individual schools against their peers - other schools simliar in demographic characteristics and grade levels.
The Paramus schools now fall into different peer groups. As for the elementary schools, Parkway and Ridge Ranch fall into one peer group while Stony Lane, Memorial and Midland fall into another. East Brook and West Brook middle schools fall into different peer groups as well.
When viewing the chart below the academic achievement in the peer rank area are very different for the two middle schools however both are being compared with different peer groups.
