Police Pay Raises, Health Fair and Roemer Run Coming This Week

MONDAY: The Paramus Public Library's "In the Spotlight" travel film series will feature Jordan and Turkey at 12:30pm. This event is free and open to the public with first come seating and light refreshments served.  

TUESDAY: The Council meets at 7pm for a work session in the lower level Caucus Room and at 7:45pm in Council Chambers for a regular meeting where the governing body will vote on several pay increases for members of the Paramus Police Department.

WEDNESDAY: Kyle Maynard, a motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur and athlete, will present a detailed look at the personal struggles he has overcome when he speaks at Bergen Community College, 12:30pm. The event is free and open to the public.

THURSDAY: The Planning Board meets at 7pm to begin hearing an applcation by Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the Garden State Plaza to allow for outdoor dining and signage approval.

WEEKEND:  Paramus residents can take part in a number of health screenings the Board of Health is offering during its annual Community Health Day set for on Saturday, Oct. 20. This year, the event will be held in partnership with Valley Health Care at The Luckow Pavilion, 1 Valley Health Plaza in Paramus. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Friends and family of Gabby Reuveni and Terri Roemer will be donning their running shoes on Sunday, 7:30am to 1pm for the annual Terri Roemer Paramus Run at Paramus Park Mall. The annual event is held in honor of Roemer and her husband Marty, but this year the organizers will also remember Reuveni as family members will lead the 5K race at 11:15am.
