Police: Two Teens Arrested After Harassing, Threatening Officers
Two Paramus Police officers were treated for injuries suffered while arresting two Teaneck males who were part of a large group of males who were threatening and harassing officers, police said.

A large group of males harassed and threatened Paramus Police officers leading them on a foot chase that led to the arrest of two Teaneck juveniles and sent two officers to the hospital with injuries.
Paramus Police say two officers were conducting a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 East about 2:22 am. Saturday when they were approached by a group of about 10 males who hurled obscenities and threats at them. The group continued on despite being told by the Officers Anthony Liggio and Daniel Cullen to move along.
Police say the officers attempted to arrest one of the males, the others “began to surround the 2 officers in a threatening manner.” The officers called for back-up and the group fled the scene launching the officers into a foot pursuit which led to the arrest and caused two officers to suffer injuries.

Cullen suffered a sprained hand and Officer Nicholas Luciano had two sprained wrists. They were treated at the hospital and released. One of the teens apprehended was treated at the hospital for an eye injury.
Both teens were were charged with rioting, Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. One was also charged with two counts and aggravated assault and the other with possession of a weapon, a knife, police said.

Police say an investigation into identifying the other males continue.
Approximately two hours before this incident Garden State Plaza security had reported this same group was seen acting disorderly at the location, police said. That incident was resolved without arrest.
