Teen Accused Of Trafficking 2 Kilos Of Fentanyl In Bergen Co.: Police
A 19-year-old was one of two arrested in connection with two kilograms of fentanyl found in a vehicular search in Bergen Co., police said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A 19-year-old was one of two jailed after an alleged narcotics transaction at a Bergen County hotel, according to authorities.
Alexis Araujo-Atanacio, 19, and Camerino Hernandez-Atanacio, 32, were arrested in connection with two kilograms of fentanyl found in their vehicle at a Little Ferry hotel on March 3, police officials said.
Just one kilogram of the synthetic opioid has the potential to kill 500,000 people, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Araujo-Atanacio and Hernandez-Atanacio were charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, following the consent search at the Rodeway Capri Inn. The latter was also charged with possession of cocaine, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Both of the Odessa, Texas, residents were then remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an initial court appearance, the prosecutor's office said.
