Teen Knifes Man's Face During Pick-Up Basketball Game In Paramus: Cops
The 16-year-old slashed the man with a multi-tool knife after a fight broke out at a Paramus gym, police said.
PARAMUS, NJ — A 16-year-old knifed the face of a man he was shooting hoops with, according to authorities.
The juvenile slashed the 23-year-old man after a fight broke out Thursday during a pick-up basketball game at a Paramus gym, police chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.
The Fort Lee teen left a laceration on the man's face with the knife from a multi-tool, when the fight escalated at about 8:25 p.m. at the 24 Hour Fitness on Route 4, Ehrenberg said.

The teen then fled the area with his friends in a Mercedes-Benz SUV, and was pulled over and arrested on Route 4 shortly thereafter, police said.
He was then charged as a juvenile with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, given an electronic monitoring bracelet and then released to a parent, police said.

The wounded Bloomfield man refused medical attention at the scene, police added.
