Toddler Ingests Fentanyl, Man Arrested And Charged: Bergen Officials
Geraldo Colon faces criminal charges after a 13-month-old was found to have ingested the dangerous drug, Bergen County prosecutors say.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A toddler who ingested fentanyl was revived with naloxone and a man arrested in connection, Bergen County prosecutors announced Friday.
Geraldo Colon, 36, was charged with endangering the welfare of the child Thursday after the 13-month-old was hospitalized with suspected fentanyl in its system, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Colon, 36, of Fairview, remains in Bergen County Jail, pending an initial court appearance, the prosecutor's office said.

This news arrived just one week after the death of Michelle Edoo, one of the women hospitalized after a mass fentanyl overdose in a Bergen County mall, was announced.
"You have to assume that any drug, whether powder, pill or vegetation that is shared on the street contains fentanyl," Musella said at a press conference last Friday. "And that it can kill you."
