Two Former Spartans Make State Collegiate Baseball Team

Frankie Colasante and Tyler Garguilo play college baseball at William Paterson University.

William Paterson University had nine of its baseball players make it to the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) team, two of them hail from Paramus.

Frankie Colasante, a graduate of Paramus High School, was named the (NJCBA) Division II/III Co-Rookie Pitcher of the Year according to the WPUpioneers.com. Colasante is a freshman reliever for the team.

Tyler Garguilo, a freshman outfielder, was selected to the NJCBA All-Rookie Team. 

According to the WPU website, Colasante was also named the 2013 New Jersey Athletic Conference Fireman of the Year and had been selected as NJCBA Division II/III Rookie Pitcher of the Week three times this spring and was also a three-time NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honoree.

Garguilo was named NJAC Rookie of the Week April 15 according to the website.
