19 N.J. Companies Make New Fortune 500 List

Annul report release Monday based on most recent fiscal year filings.

Fortune Magazine has announced its exclusive 500 list for the 2015 fiscal year, and New Jersey proves its worth with a whopping 19 companies on the list, including four in the top-75.

WalMart led the overall list, but New Brunswick-based Johnson & Johnson came in 39th overall, boasting a $70B year in 2015.

The Monday release of information marked the 62nd annual list, Fortune said. The 500 companies named make up two-thirds of the United States’ Gross Domestic Product, the company said.

According to the company’s methodology, businesses are ranked based on total revenues for their respective fiscal years and file financial statements with a government agency.
