2 Parsippany High School Seniors Named Nat'l Merit Scholarship Winners

Both teens will attend Rutgers University.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – For two of Parsippany’s graduating seniors, the end of their high school careers just got even better.

Rachel George, a student at Parsippany Hills High School, and Michael Wang, a student at Parsippany High School, have both been named National Merit Scholars in 2016.

George will be attending Rutgers University but has not yet declared a major.

Wang will also be attending Rutgers University and plans a probable career field in Academia, the National Merit organization announced.

Winners will receive scholarship in the amount of $500 to $2,000. The distinguished group includes 7,500 high school seniors who will receive about $33 million. Earlier this spring the organization announced winners of corporate-sponsored winners for $2,500 scholarships.
