83 Seatbelt, 6 DWI, 15 Cell Phone Tickets: 'Click It' Campaign Totals In Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Parsippany police made the most of their two-week stepped up enforcement for the Click It Or Ticket campaign, distributing a total of 409 tickets between late May and early June.

Parsippany, like nearly 200 other agencies in New Jersey, received a $5,000 grant to add 100 patrol hours to the roadways for the seatbelt violator crackdown as part of a national program.

The breakdown for Parsippany, according to police, included:

• 7 Driving While Suspended
• 83 Driving Without a Seatbelt
• 6 Driving While Intoxicated
• 5 Reckless Driving
• 12 Careless Driving
• 15 Cell Phone
• 15 Speeding
• 265 Other violations (non-moving, excluding parking tickets)
