Former Parsippany Mayor Seeks Donations To Cover Legal Fees
After weeks of unsuccessful election litigation, the former mayor is seeking donations to cover his legal fees.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — After his challenge of the 2025 general election results was rejected several times, former Parsippany Mayor James Barberio is seeking donations to cover the accrued legal fees.
After a historically narrow election, Barberio was beaten by Democrat Pulkit Desai in the 2025 general election for Parsippany’s mayor.
The Republican challenged the election results several times, including twice in court. His efforts were rejected time and time again after a judge found the challenge was filed "haphazardly,” and that the "evidence" presented was “without merit.”

Barberio launched the fundraising campaign on WinRed.com, a site more often used for campaign donations.
Barberio’s fundraiser is titled “Support Mayor Barberio’s Legal Challenge,” and urges donors to “support election integrity.”
The WinRed campaign reads:
"For years, Mayor Barberio has fought for fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability in local government. That same commitment now extends to ensuring our local election was conducted fairly and lawfully.
The legal process exists for a reason: to resolve disputes through facts, evidence, and the rule of law—not headlines or speculation.
Your donation helps ensure that this process can move forward responsibly, professionally, and thoroughly."
It should be noted that the former mayor’s legal challenge was dismissed by a judge with prejudice, meaning that he can not file suit again on this matter.
