A Life Saver: Parsippany Cop Rescues Reptile From Roadway
Officer helped move turtle out of the street Thursday morning.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. - The first priority for the Parsippany Police Department is to keep the community safe. Nowhere in the oath of office does that ostracize animals.
Such was the case Thursday morning when Officer Dave Cavaliere responded to the area of Intervale Road and Route 46 for a jaywalker, as the police department described on its Facebook page.
That jaywalker had four legs and a shell, and happened to be a turtle. Cavaliere took his oath seriously and helped the creature out of harm's way and into a stream.
