Pandemic School-Age Tuition Assistance Program Opens

The program is designed to help families in Parsippany and other localities with child care during remote learning

PARSIPPANY, NJ—The township announced on Monday that a new state program was available to Parsippany residents struggling with caring for a school-age child as a result of remote learning school.

To be eligible for the Covid-19 School-Age Tuition Assistance program, applicants must be New Jersey residents with a school-age child between ages five and 13. The child must attend school remotely at least part of the time, and the gross annual household income must be $75,000 or less.

If approved, $634 in assistance is paid directly to a licensed child-care provider the applicant selects. A registered family child care provider can also be selected, with $526 paid.

Applications will be accepted until the $250 million in Coronavirus Relief Fund money slated for the program is exhausted. The program ends on Dec. 31, 2020. Applicants can apply for the program here.
