The person on the phone informed the resident that there was a box addressed to him containing drugs discovered in Mexico and currently en route to Wisconsin. The resident was aware of the scam and stopped speaking with the caller.

The police department, however, claimed that their agency would not call any residents in an attempt to collect any money from them.
