Chris DuFlocq Sworn in as Fire Captain
Marks latest round of promotions at fire department
Veteran fireman Chris Duflocq was sworn in as a captain by the Ridgewood Village Council Wednesday night. A number of fire department personnel were on hand to congratulate Duflocq, a graduate of Ridgewood High School (Class of 1977).

About a dozen firefighters are scheduled to retire at the end of next year. A new contract was signed in May that will reduce starting salaries while allowing more manpower to be brought on. Four have already been sworn in to the 40-man force. Village officials estimate the savings from the mid-contract concessions could reach $5 million over the next 12 years.
