Ridgewood BOE to Talk Teacher Reform

The will be holding its final meeting of 2011 Monday night.

On the agenda (posted at right), the school board will look over the corrective audit report for the 2010-2011 school year. The district has been criticized to the residents, but has over the past year taken some steps to reach out with a more common tongue.

The board will also hold a discussion on whether to support the New Jersey School Board Association's resolution on tenure reform. and Sen. Teresa Ruiz (D-Newark) is proposing that school boards and the superintendent hand over hiring and firing power to building principals and a "school improvement team" as part of the reform. Not shockingly, that has not been well supported by other school boards.

Beyond budget and tenure talk, there will be a little entertainment on Monday night. A Capella group the AcaBellas will put on a little show at the Ed. Center.

The school board will meet at 7:30 p.m.
