Man Wielding Pipe At Scotch Plains 7-Eleven Arrested: Police
A man who was wielding a pipe at pedestrians was arrested on Friday, following a brief foot chase, Scotch Plains police said.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A man wielding a pipe at pedestrians at a 7-Eleven in Scotch Plains was arrested on Friday, according to police.
Upon arrival, Scotch Plains discovered two men — one of which was still armed with the pipe — who refused commands to drop the weapon. When the armed man finally dropped the pipe, he fled on Mountain Avenue.
After a brief foot chase, Sgt. Jason Everitt and Lt. Dave Lavery arrested the man. He was identified as 23-year-old Angel R. Rodriguez-Torres of Scotch Plains.

Rodriguez-Torres was charged with disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was then sent to Union County Jail.
The other man, 26-year-old Edgardo Torres of Frenchtown, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. He was released following arrest.
