K-9 Resorts owners, Jason and Steven Parker have been working with the police department on the fundraiser for the past four years. In the first year, the event raised over $5,000 which gave the department the ability to buy two bullet proof vests for the dogs in the K-9 Unit.

“The event on Friday was a huge success,” Jason told Patch.

The fundraiser took place on April 5 at Shackamaxon Country Club and over 125 people we in attendence.

“I wanted to get involved because I am a dog lover and wanted to help our town with their police k9 unit,” Jason Parker said. “Also, as a Scotch Plains resident, I feel we are much safer and better off having a police k9 unit.”
