Artist Holds Portrait Painting Workshop at Summit High School

Elena Caravela is a local portrait artist who came in to do a Portrait Painting workshop with two of the upper level art classes.

The students had a fantastic time going through a step by step process in Oil paints. For many, it was their first painting in oil. Students carefully chose their subjects to paint. Some picked themselves while others decided to paint a family member or a friend. Students were a part of every aspect of the creative process from lighting, photographing, and then executing their painting. We look forward to next year's continued portion of the grant with visiting artists for a Printmaking project and Raku Clay project. Thank you to the Summit Educational Foundation for this wonderful opportunity!
