Summit Adds Buses From Station, NJ Transit Suspends Lines

A fallen tree has suspended all rail service on the Morris & Essex lines. Buses will be available from Summit train station Wednesday.

SUMMIT, NJ — NJ Transit has suspended all rail service on the Morris & Essex and Gladstone Branch lines due to a fallen tree disrupting service Tuesday.

NJT announced that service will run on a limited schedule Wednesday morning. While NJT train crews work to restore service, Boxcar is adding buses from the Summit train station to midtown Manhattan for Wednesday and Thursday.

The buses will run at 6:15 a.m., 6:40 a.m. and 7 a.m. with return service in the evening.

Morris & Essex and Gladstone line tickets are being cross-honored on the Raritan Valley and Montclair-Boonton lines, NJ Transit bus, private-carriers and PATH at 33rd St. and Hoboken.
