'A Christmas Carol' To Be Performed At Summit Middle School

The classic Charles Dickens holiday tale will be performed at the middle school this week. See below for times and how to get tickets.

SUMMIT, NJ — It's time to grab tickets while they're still available for Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School's fall production of "A Christmas Carol."

Performances of the holiday classic will take place Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Doors open for audience arrival at 6:30PM for evening shows and 1:30PM for the matinee.

"A Christmas Carole" tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the Christmas Eve that "changes his life forever and teaches him that wealth is not the things we possess but the kindness we share with others."

This adaptation of the Charles Dickens' novel by James Hutchinson is filled with familiar characters — from the kind Cratchit Family to the terrifying Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come —and equally well-known carols, according to Summit Public Schools.

Tickets are $13 for students/seniors and $15 for adults. Attendees can also buy concession bags at intermission for $10 (cash only).

Online ticket sales close three hours before curtain time. Open seats will be available in the auditorium lobby while supplies last. The box office opens one hour before showtime.

In addition, the school district will be holding a toy drive at the show in association with GRACE - Giving and Receiving Assistance for our Community's Essentials. The district is asking for donations of unwrapped board games, puzzles and LEGOs.

People are advised to drop off the toys before or after the performances on Friday and Saturday.
