The City of Summit is advising residents that Statewide Striping will be installing downtown crosswalks this weekend utilizing the following schedule: Saturday night, 11:59 p.m.: Crosswalks on Springfield Avenue between Beechwood &amp; Maple. Springfield Avenue will be closed at that time between Beechwood and Maple. Sunday morning 11:00 a.m: Crosswalks on Springfield Avenue between Maple &amp; Kent Place. Springfield Avenue will be closed at that time between Maple and Kent Place. But the other section would be re-opened. All times are approximate as material has to cure, but the contractor will do all possible to expedite the projects, according to the City of Summit. Street parking must be prohibited during these times to avoid cars being trapped in the closure, the city advised. Police will be on-site during the installation.
