Flash Flood Watch Issued For Union County: See Timeline

UNION COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Union County, which could be hit with as much as 2 to 4 inches of rain from Monday night into Tuesday. (This is a significant amount; for comparison, 5 inches to 9 inches fell in North Jersey during Tropical Depression Ida, although it fell during a shorter period of time).

The flash flood watch issued for Hudson, Essex, Passaic, Union counties runs from 8 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Some are saying the storm could take the form of a nor'easter further north. Meanwhile, significant rains are also predicted Friday night into Saturday, as of now.

A 30 percent chance of rain before 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 62. North wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
