• Summit Council Kicks Off 2026; President Claire Toth Launches Weekly Office Hours for Residents (tapinto.net) — Summit residents now have a new way to reach their local government, as Council President Claire Toth is holding open office hours every Monday from 3–5 p.m. at City Hall on Springfield Avenue. The newly seated Common Council is emphasizing transparency and accessibility for 2026, inviting residents to walk in, share concerns, and help shape city priorities.
   

• Madison, Summit end in draw - Girls ice hockey recap (nj.com subscription) — Summit’s girls ice hockey team battled Madison to a 2-2 draw, with late goals from Poet Harris and Mackenzie Semcer pulling Summit even at Warinanco Ice Center. Several Summit skaters added assists, and goalie Aspen Ruschmeier turned aside 18 shots in a hard-fought matchup that highlights the local squad’s resilience.
