SHS Students Form SEEDS Club to Work With Low-Income High Achieving Students
SEEDS was formed this fall and already raised nearly $1,500.

The following information was provided by SEEDS.
Launched this fall, several students founded a SEEDS Club to do fundraising and volunteer projects to support New Jersey SEEDS (www.njseeds.org). SEEDS is a nonprofit that works with motivated, high-achieving students from low-income families and transforms educational opportunities. Our three programs serve 5th, 6th, 8th, and 10th-12thgraders in various regions across the state.
Since launching the club, the students have hosted a fundraiser at Bar Method, where they raised $500. In addition to the nearly additional $1,000 they have raised through other fundraising efforts, the students are hoping to have a bake sale in mid-April.
On March 22, the SEEDS club hosted a cooking class for elementary school girls. They raised $300 which they hope to use toward sponsoring a “Breakfast Brigade” for our Young Scholars Program and a general donation back to SEEDS.
The students put together a letter for the parents of the elementary school students who attended and also shared a few talking points that they used to explain SEEDS to the students.
