Summit Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts Set for Sunday

The Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts, sponsored by .,  will be held along Beechwood Road, Union Place and Bank Street in downtown Summit, Sunday, June 24, from 10 am to 5 pm.   This is a juried event featuring a talented array of artists and craftsmen who will exhibit and sell their work in a variety of media including clay, fibers, metals, glass, jewelry, watercolors, oil, mixed media and photography. There will be something for everyone to enjoy!

William Cantwell will display his whimsical paintings at the festival.  While teaching special education in Connecticut and later in New York City, Cantwell attended the School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design and the Art Students’ League and waited tables while continuing to pursue an art career.  In 1985, he began exhibiting at various art festivals including several in Florida and later wintered in Key West where his interest in things tropical grew and developed.  Cantwell presently divides his time between Pennsylvania, New York City and Florida.  His interest in the tropics takes him to many of the islands of the Bahamas and the Caribbean, a great source of inspiration for much of his work.

Musical entertainment will delight festival goers as they enjoy a free outdoor concert throughout the day.  The musical lineup features talented musicians and vocalists scheduled as follows:

Summit's Downtown Business District is a tapestry of retail and commercial businesses with an abundance of specialty and gift shops, clothing stores, home furnishings, restaurants, bakeries, fine wine outlets, movie theatre and ample free parking all within short walking distances.
