15 Burglaries Tied To Toms River Man, Police Say

Authorities seized four firearms, including an AR-15, when they arrested the man in the burglaries in Toms River and Lakewood, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River man is facing 17 charges in connection with a series of burglaries in Toms River and Lakewood, authorities announced Tuesday.

Christopher X. Green, 31, was arrested May 1 after a joint investigation by Toms River and Lakewood police into more than 15 burglaries that happened in the two towns, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith and Toms River Lt. Gene Bachonski said.

The burglaries happened from March 30 through April 6 in both towns, and in one Green was armed with a handgun, police said.

The investigation by Lakewood Detective Kevin Donnelly and Toms River Detective Jesse Robertazzi identified residences in Toms River and Neptune, as well as several motor vehicles associated with Green, and search warrants executed turned up items taken from several of the burglaries, police said.

In addition, authorities seized four firearms, including an AR-15 and a sub gun, police said.

Green now faces 17 criminal charges, including first-degree robbery, second-degree armed burglary, conspiracy, and multiple weapons-related offenses, police said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department, Neptune Township Police Department, and the New Jersey State Office of Parole assisted in the investigation, police said.
