2 Pizzerias Hit In Smash-And-Grab Burglaries In Toms River

Front windows were smashed and cash was taken, Toms River police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities are investigating after burglars smashed the front windows of two Route 37 pizzerias and stole cash early Friday, Toms River police said.

Toms River police were called to Pizza and Panini, 452 Route 37, at 3:51 a.m. on Friday for a report of a commercial burglary and found the front door had been shattered with a large stone paver, police said.

They also found the cash register had been compromised and cash stolen, police said.

While they were investigating, police found the front window of Singas Pizza at 1808 Route 37 smashed, police said. A rock was found inside the building that appeared to have been used to smash the window, they said, and a cash register containing cash was taken.

Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI responded to both locations and documented evidence, police said.
