JERSEY SHORE, NJ — Welcome to the unofficial start of the summer of 2024 with Memorial Day weekend here at last.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies at the beach through Sunday, with the potential for rain and thunderstorms returning on Monday.

Rip current risk is low this weekend, according to the weather service.

Memorial Day: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
