The curfew applies to those under age 18 in the barrier island communities, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Police Department has resumed its curfew for those under the age of 18 in the town's barrier island communities.
The curfew is in effect through Labor Day in Ortley Beach and the northern beaches. Juveniles 17 and under are barred from being out on the streets without an adult from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., police said.
The only exceptions are kids who are doing errands for a parent or guardian; those going back and forth to jobs; teens going to and from religious gatherings, educational events or private functions.
