Ocean County Nursing Home To Repay $165K In Medicaid Reimbursements

The nursing home was supposed to bill other entities for payment before filing claims with Medicaid, the state comptroller's office said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River nursing home has agreed to repay nearly $165,000 to the state of New Jersey in Medicaid funds it was not supposed to receive, according to the state comptroller's office.

Complete Care at Bey Lea agreed to the settlement with the New Jersey Comptroller's Office in March, according to the agreement released Thursday.

Under state law, Medicaid is supposed to be "the payer of last resort" for patient care, the comptroller said. The comptroller's Medicaid Fraud Division "frequently recovers money where Medicaid paid claims for which another party was responsible."
