Warning Issued With Severe Thunderstorms Headed Toward Wayne Thursday

WAYNE, NJ — A line of severe thunderstorms are making their way toward Wayne, triggering a warning by the National Weather Service (NWS) on Thursday morning.

Gusty winds up to 60 miles per hour and penny-sized hail are possible as a storm cell moves east over New Jersey. Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines are likely.
This current alert is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, per the NWS.

A line of severe thunderstorms were seen moving east at 50 miles per hour. The storms are expected to reach Wayne between 9:40 and 9:45 a.m., the NWS said.

Any storm could contain lightning strikes and brief heavy downpours, forecasters said. There is chance for more thunderstorms throughout the day.
