Active Fire In Westfield Involving Utility Pole, Power Lines (UPDATE)

WESTFIELD, NJ — UPDATE: Chief Christopher Battiloro told Patch that there is a transformer burning near the intersection of Elm St. and Sinclair Place. The area has been secured pending the arrival of PSE&G, Battiloro said.

There is currently an active fire in Westfield involving a utility pole and power lines, according to an alert from Westfield Police at 11:49 a.m. on Friday.

The fire is in the area of Elm Street and Sinclair Place, and the Fire Department says to avoid the area.

Police, fire and emergency utilities are current at the scene.
