Car Burglaries On The Rise In Westfield, Police Say

An additional car was stolen out of Westfield Monday morning, police said.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Police Department is reporting an increase in car burglaries and attempted car thefts over the last week or so, according to a recent announcement.

A 2020 Lincoln Navigator was stolen early Monday morning from the 400 block of Bryant Avenue, police said.

In addition, earlier this month, two residents had their cars broken into and one resident's $500 Chanel sunglasses were stolen from inside.

Police reminded all residents and visitors to lock their vehicles and remove key fobs. People are also advised to immediately report suspicious persons, vehicles and/or activities by calling 9-1-1.
