Free Meals Being Delivered For Qualifying Union County Residents

Nutritional needs of residents are being addressed by this growing initiative.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — The "Meals on Wheels" initiative is addressing a variety of needs for residents aged 60 and older in the county.

The program uses home-delivered nutritious meals and regular wellness checks to help those who may have trouble preparing food due to different medical conditions and other barriers. Through the arrival of care, organizers also hope to reduce feelings of isolation among many older residents.

“Meals on Wheels is more than just a meal delivery service — it is a lifeline for many in our community,” adds Board of County Commissioners Chairwoman Lourdes M. Leon. “For families, this program provides peace of mind knowing their loved ones are receiving both nourishment and a friendly check-in. For seniors, it means staying connected and supported in the comfort of their own homes.”
