Local Seafood Eatery Closing Its Doors

The Cod Almighty Chippery in Westfield is closing for business next week.

A Westfield eatery announced it will be closing its doors to business at the end of next week.

In an announcement on Facebook, the Cod Almighty Chippery, located at 231 South Ave. East in Westfield, said it will be closing on Saturday, April 18.

“It is with great sadness that we are announcing the closing of Cod Almighty Chippery on April 18,” the restaurant said in the post. “It has been a great five year run and we cannot thank you enough for your patronage. To all our regulars, we will miss you and we appreciate you making our restaurant a regular part of your lives.

The restaurant, which specializes in includes classic fish-and-chips and other unique items such as deep fried Oreo and Twinkie desserts, ran into local competition when the Seafare Chippery, 383 South Ave. in Fanwood, re-opened, according to a report from TAPinto.net.

“We have met some amazing people and we could not have stayed in business for five years without you,” Cod Almighty Chippery continued. “Thanks for the great word of mouth and the many Yelp reviews. Our last day is April 18, so we hope we get to see everyone in the next two weeks.”
