Many Westfield Residents Running For Union Co. Committee Election

Several Westfield residents have filed to run for the Republican County Committee ahead of the primary election coming up in June.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Although there will be no local election in Westfield this year, several local residents are running for the Union County Republican Committee this year.

Monday was the filing deadline for all candidates running in the primary election, and according to the Union County Clerk, many Westfield residents have filed for the Republican County Committee.

The male candidates from Westfield running for the Republican Committee are as follows:

According to Town Clerk Tara Rowley, the only local positions that have filed are for the Republican County Committee.

All county commissioners are elected to three-year terms, and Union County consists of nine members on the board.

The 2022 Primary Election will take place on June 7. For those interested in changing their party affiliation ahead of the election, Union County voters have until April 13 to do so.
