Warinanco Park Fatal Shooting Suspect Turns Himself In: Authorities
The Union County man has been charged with murder in the May 19 shooting of another man, authorities said.
ROSELLE, NJ — A Linden man has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting at Warinanco Park, authorities said Saturday.
Gerald O. Walker, 47, was charged with first-degree murder in the May 19 killing of Shakiir Manns, 29, of Linden, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniels and Union County Police Chief Martin Mogensen said in a news release.
The shooting was reported at 7:51 p.m. May 19 in the Roselle area of Warinanco Park, authorities said, and Manns was found dead at the scene.

Walker turned himself into the Elizabeth Police Department on Saturday, authorities said. In addition to the murder charge, he is charged with one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, authorities said.
He is being held in the Union County Jail pending his first appearance in court on Sunday, May 26.
