Emily Root Wins Ward 1 Council Seat In Westfield 2022 Election, Clerk Says
Candidates Emily Root (D) and Amanda Como (R) face off in this year's general election to fill the council's Ward 1 seat.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The polls are now closed for the General Election, and vote tallies are in.
Democratic Councilwoman Emily Root is the projected winner for the vacant Ward 1 seat on Westfield Town Council at 1,907 votes, according to unofficial results released by the Union County Clerk.

Root, who was appointed to fill the Ward 1 vacancy this year, ran against Republican Amanda Como who received 1,532 votes, according to the County Clerk.

The vote tallies remain unofficial until they are certified later by the Union County Clerk.
