Westfield Community Concert Band Kicks Off Season Later This Month

The Westfield Community Concert Band's annual spring concert will take place later this month.

The Westfield Community Concert band begins a season of celebrating their 103rd season, with its annual spring concert, being held place in Scotch Plains later this month.

The spring concert will take place on Sunday, April 26, at the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Auditorium, located at 667 Westfield Road in Scotch Plains. The program, prepared by band music director Dr. Thomas Connors, will highlight classical and contemporary selections.

According to NJ.com, the program will feature successful compositions by such composers as Peter Menin, Jean Sibelius, Johann Strauss, II, William Walton and several others will be performed at the spring concert.

The Westfield Community Band is in its 103rd concert season and will also be appearing in a joint concert with the Ridgewood Concert Band on May 8, NJ.com said. The community band will also be performing in a Memorial Eve Concert at the Fanwood Train Station Park and Memorial Day Parades in Westfield and Scotch Plains.

Beginning after the summer solstice, the band will kick off its annual Summer Concert Series on June 25, July 2, 9 and 16 in Westfield’s Mindowaskin Park.
