Westfield To Swear In Mayor, Council At Ceremony

Mayor Shelley Brindle and three Westfield Council members will be sworn in at the ceremony held outside of Town Hall Tuesday evening.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Mayor Shelley Brindle, along with three Council members, will be sworn in at a ceremony held at Town Hall Tuesday night.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 5:30 p.m. Brindle will be sworn in for her second term, and Council members Linda Habgood, Michael Dardia, David Contract and Dawn Mackey will also be sworn in.

This event is open to the public and will be held outdoors, due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases. It will take place on the front lawn of Westfield's Town Hall — 425 East Broad Street — weather permitting.

Masks are required during the ceremony.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the Town Hall Community Room instead. However, it will limit in-person attendance to elected officials and their family members, as well as town employees and members of the press, to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
