Westfield's 27th Annual Spring Fling Returns This May

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield is welcoming the season of rebirth with a big spring blowout — featuring music, food vendors, rides and much more this May.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Westfield will hold its 27th annual Spring Fling downtown on Sunday, May 1. The event is hosted by the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with OceanFirst Bank.

For the first time, the event will be held on Central Avenue running from East Broad Street to North Avenue and will include the parking lot across from the Post Office, as well as a section of Lenox Avenue.

The event will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine.

The fun-filled day will include diverse food vendors, as well as several merchandise vendors. There will also be a Kids Zone with rides and a multitude of activities to entertain kids throughout the day.

Valenica Music and the New Jersey Workshop of the Arts are also set to perform music and entertainment.

Event organizers encourage people to arrive early and stay for the day. Admission is free.

As Westfield is celebrating Spring Fling Day in the entire downtown area, residents should look out for specials at local retail establishments, according to event organizers.

Central Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 a.m. from North Avenue to East Broad Street on May 1. Downtown residents on Central Avenue and Lenox are reminded to park in municipal lots, outside of the Spring Fling area.

Parking will also be available in the South Avenue train station parking lot.

Pets, skateboarding, bike riding and rollerblading are prohibited within the Spring Fling area for the safety of attendees.
