Westwood 'Dad's Dash' Fundraising For Sgt. Hrbek Scholarship Sunday
The second annual event will take place on Father's Day.

The second-ever "Dad's Dash" will take place in Westwood's Westvale Park on Sunday.
The event features a 5K race and mile walk through through Westvale Park and Pascack Brook County Park. There will also be a pre-race tribute to the armed forces at 8:45 a.m. and post-race awards ceremony and Father's Day barbecue.Â
Entry for the 5K costs $22 or $25 on the day of the race. Entry for the mile walk is $5 per person with a maximum of $25 per family.

Money raised will benefit the Sgt. Christopher Hrbek Scholarship Fund.
Hrbek, a Westwood native, was deployed to Afghanistan with the Marine Corps when he was killed in 2010. The scholarship was set up honor Hrbek's memory. It awards $2,500 to a graduating Westwood Jr./Sr. High School student "pursuing a career involving service to others" each year.
