$4.2M Grant To Wyckoff Poultry Farm Will Expand Processing Capacity
A federal investment in Goffle Road Poultry Farm will enable the farm to expand processing capacity by a projected 150 percent by 2026.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A $4.2 million federal investment will enable a fourth-generation, family-owned poultry farm in Wyckoff to expand processing capacity by a projected 150 percent by 2026, according to a New Jersey Department of Agriculture news release.
Goffle Road Poultry Farm will use the U.S. Department of Agriculture's investment to equip the existing space with an evisceration room, staff offices and training room; and extend the facility by 15,000 square feet for further processing, refrigeration and freezer storage.
In addition, the farm will create a satellite pickup and drop-off space for area farms, which, the NJDA said, is "highly desired by producers."

The grant is part of Phase 1 of a program authorized under the American Rescue Plan Act to expand meat and poultry processing capacity, which, the NJDA said, will help create job opportunities and meet an increase in consumer demand.
“The strains on our nation’s supply chains greatly underscore the need to increase and enhance localized processing of livestock products both in New Jersey and beyond,” State Agriculture Secretary Douglas Fisher said. “This effort will help address those needs in the poultry sector and can serve as a model for other meat products in the Garden State as well.”

The NJDA, the department added, helped guide farm owners Joseph and Brian Silvestri and staff through the application process that led to the investment.
“By jumpstarting independent processing projects and increasing processing capacity," U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said, "these investments create more opportunities for farmers and ranchers to get a fair price, while strengthening supply chains, delivering more food produced closer to home for families, expanding economic opportunity and creating jobs in rural America.”
