Bergen Teachers Launching 'Red For Ed' Campaign

Teachers will tie red ribbons around trees or conspicuously display them as a way of showing their pride and support for public schools.

Teachers throughout Bergen County will conspicuously display red ribbons next week as part of a campaign that honors public education.

The campaign is known as "Red For Ed." The campaign will be held on May 1, International Workers' Day.

The "Red For Ed" campaign is the brainchild of the Bergen County Education Association, the county teachers union.

The union said parents and residents are invited to participate in the campaign.

"Without a doubt, we set the bar high for our students, and continue to attract the best and the brightest educations and support staff," said union President Sue McBride. "I couldn't be more proud of our members in Bergen County who make our schools great for our students and communities."
