Cash, Jewelry Reported Stolen During Franklin Lakes Break-In
A Surrey Lane home was broken into Friday evening, Franklin Lakes police said.
FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ - An investigation is underway after a Franklin Lakes home was broken into Friday evening, according to authorities.
Shortly before 9 p.m., a Surrey Lane resident contacted police to report that a burglar forced open a rear door to their home "during the early evening hours," Capt. John Bakelaar said.
"The bedrooms were the primary focus of attack," he said.

Among the items stolen were cash and jewelry, according to the captain. The homeowner is in the process of compiling a complete list of missing items, Bakelaar added.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the scene, and Sgt. Mark McCombs, Detective Sgt. Robert Grassi, Officer Dennis Hill and Officer Christopher O'Brien assisted with the investigation.
