Couples Tie The Knot On Valentine's Day At County Clerk's Office

HACKENSACK, NJ - Love was in the air Friday morning at the Bergen County Clerk’s Office.
To celebrate the most romantic day of the year, nearly a dozen couples tied the knot during special Valentine’s Day ceremonies performed by County Clerk John S. Hogan.
Now in his 9th year as county clerk, Hogan has said “bringing people together in marriage is one of the best parts of the job.”

Each Valentine’s Day, the clerk’s office is flooded with calls from couples who want to get married on Valentine’s Day and Hogan – and his staff – are more than happy to oblige.
This year, Hogan performed 10 weddings and an 11th was officiated in Spanish by former Hackensack mayor Jorge E. Meneses, who is staffer at the clerk’s office.

In 2019, Hogan officiated 922 weddings, which is a record high, according to the clerk’s office.
