County Sponsors Ski Day at Campgaw

Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney will host a county ski day from 3 to 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at Campgaw Mountain, 200 Campgaw Road, Mahwah.

The first 100 Bergen County residents who register online will be entitled to a free ski pass. The free passes will be given on a first come, first served basis with a limit of four per family.

 With the cooperation of Ski Campgaw Management, LLC, which leases and operates the Campgaw ski area, participants may also take advantage of discount rates for skiing and snowboarding lessons and equipment rentals. Skis will be available for the discount price of $12 instead of the usual rate of $22. Snowboards will be available for $20 instead of $30. Lessons will be offered at the discount rate of $12, instead of the usual rate of $25 per hour.

To introduce visitors to Campgaw's new terrain park, skiers and riders from Campgaw will put on a demo for all those in attendance at 5 p.m. All children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
